MY MARKS AND FEEDBACK GOT LOST HOWEVER I DO REMEMBER POINTS I NEEDED TO IMPROVE UPON. For this exam I was going through a rough patch and therefore neglected any kind of revision for it, which is incredibly silly on my end. I didn't do the best with a big factor of that being my lack of knowledge on theorists in that term (gender theory, etc.). Judith Butler and David Gauntlett played a big role in this and I know acknowledge how I'm at fault in a way? However if I did go over gender theory and the theorists surrounding it, I feel like I would have had greater success in this exam.  I need to work on including theory in my assessments, as well as identifying what social and cultural contexts actually means.

WWW: I really like the perspective of the image – you’ve managed to get the focus right and the comically enormous hand works well. It’s a striking image that works well as a cover shoot. You’ve also recreated the unauthorised Tyler, the Creator Rolling Stone cover well but the issue is that it’s a not a real Rolling Stone cover so from a media language and conventions perspective it’s missing quite a bit. However, I do agree that you’ve recreated that particular Kanye cover effectively. I also think your evaluation is good – reflective and thoughtful.   EBI : One element of your evaluation that I appreciate but possibly don’t agree with is regarding the background to the central image. I see your point on the grungy look but I feel the background takes something away from how striking the image is and therefore dilutes the effect somewhat. The biggest issue though is that you’ve recreated a magazine cover that isn’t genuine and if you look at the other Rolling Stone cover you put it

Total = (26) = B WWW. A strong exam throughout with some excellent engagement with media ideas and debates in places. The challenge now is to add the depth and consistency to push on towards an A grade. EBI   Q2 is a litle weaker, try and bring in some theory here and more detailed references to the texts - Question focus: make sure you ruthlessly focus on what the question is asking you. (before I add this part in I would just like to mention that the tasks for this assessment isn't up on the blog) Genuinely this is the best paper I've sat and done for media, I enjoyed my time with the paper and that's visible via the B grade, however it isn't all sunshines and rainbows. One of the reasons I feel I wasn't getting MORE marks could be due to the fact I write really fast, even with proof reading 5+ times, I think it's the excitement I feel after finishing a good paper that allows me to slip up. After receiving my paper today and looking through it, although I
